    Andy just brought this up.
What happened with the CD rom you spent blood sweat and tears on creating of shorts made by some of people on this forum?

By the way I still have a short something Id love to put on it, if its still a possibility, or if you do another???

There was no real interest in it.

Aside from Andy's contribution, all the other stuff was either directed or edited by me.

So, I do have a compilation but it's slightly biased towards work that I have been involved in.

At the moment I have no energy/time for distribution becasue I have three other active projects at this time.

    Hi all,

I can completly see why this might be
pushed to the back of the queue of things
to do, especially with the amount of
interest but I still think this is a good
    idea.

Maybe we need to help miker, and take some
    of the work from him.

I think that a way forward would be that if
we have a CD which can be created then
everyone involved has this CD-image and can
create them and gives them away to TV
stations etc, talks to papers etc. So
    everyone can help each other.

I'm sure that even with a handful of people
we can divide the work of making the artwork,
burning the CDs, making a website, talk to
    the press, can be done.

So I guess we need -

o A list of people who want to help

o A list of people that we will give the
    CD to, or tell about.

When we've got both of these then I'm sure
    it must be worth doing?

    Any thoughts?

I think Andy should be project manager ;-)

The CD I have at the moment is an ISO data CD with MPEG1 on it (ie it is not VCD, so will not play on a domestic DVD player)

The market would be bigger if it was made VCD compliant, but this is also a fair bit of (transcoding) work. And rejigging an MPEG1 stream can be ugly in terms of sync.

Perhaps we should start with just an ISO (computer) CD and maybe #2 we'll make VCD ...

    Thoughts?

    Hi again,

If you are happy for me to organize this
then, I'm happy to try to do it.

Miker, do you have all the information
that was sent the first time this was put
around the message board? Maybe it is
still archived, I'll have a look.

I'll start a new thread when I've thought
    more about this.

    cheers,

    andy

    Andy, help yourself!

And as my teacher once said ...

"Do, or do not. There is no try."

Good luck! (and you know where I am if u need help...)

    Hey everybody'

I am new to this forum and video editing so I am not able to contribute anything other than moral support. After reading this thread I think You guys have a great idea and should pursue it (time allowing).

Keep up the good work and never forget that collaboration is key in this field.

    Good luck from Toronto,
    Eduardo
